Fine Wining and Dining

Studying abroad in Italy has broadened my horizon (big time) with cuisine.  I decide that while being here I would gain further knowledge and explore more of the authentic cuisine that this fine country has to offer. I join the excursion, Best of Tuscany with Florence for Fun.

All I had previously heard was that this trip “gets you drunk,” and boy was I in for a surprise.

Our first stop was the famous Tuscan city of Montepulciano where their wine is one of the finest in the Tuscan region.

This is the town’s main square where American producers fake a fountain in the middle of this square. Movies such as Under the Tuscan sun and one of the  Twilight sagas were all filmed here.

The main wine producer of the area.

Let the food and wine consumption begin! Oh so how I love bread and olive oil dearly.

I of course had to purchase olive oil, considering that my age is not up to part within the United States laws on alcohol.

I meet many friendly, and inspirational people that day! Guess I just have an old soul.

Our next stop was in Pienza, to sample on fresh cheese!!

A pit stop at a century old church.

Another wine tasting in the infamous Brunello winery located in Monticiano.

Ended the day with a belly full of wine and bread. What a day that was!
